The 2010-2011 season definitely presented the Hos with its challenges, but under the excellent leadership of our Captain, Carina Lindberg, and coaching of Lucy Durrans and Signe Hulbert, the Hos finished on a well deserved high. Despite the tougher opposition faced on Wednesday matches, the Hos fought hard in the BUCS league and managed to finish 8 points clear of relegation, something we all no doubt wish to improve upon in next year's season. In our Saturday League we yet again retained utter domination, with a casual +186 goal difference giving us promotion to what we hope to be a more competitive league (24-0 wins can get slightly tedious!).
The highlight of the Hos' season was unquestionably the second consecutive Varsity win over the Cambridge 'Bedouins'. Although nerves were running high after the half time scoreboard still read 0-0, in true Ho style we stormed the second half and came away with a sweet 2-0 victory. We also like to think we trumped them on costumes, but unfortunately Mr Blobby was not to Tabs' taste... who knew?!
Looking onwards and indeed upwards, the Hos are keen that 2011-2012 is just as successful, aiming to finish in the top half of our BUCS league whilst gaining Saturday promotion and a third Varsity win. Bring on next season!
