Women's Blues
Captain: Becci Carpenter

Coach: John Shaw

League: Southern Premier League Division 2

The Women's Blues team had a varied season in 2009/2010. Despite a talented intake of freshers and a strong existing squad, the team struggled to find their feet initially; however, the season finished with a solid mid-table position in our Saturday league, a fourth place finish in our BUCS league, and an exciting 3-2 victory in our Varsity match.

Next year, we hold our places in the BUCS South Premier League on a Wednesday, and the Southern Premier League Division 2 on a Saturday, and aim to continue to challenge in these leagues. Although many familiar faces are moving on, we are confident that, under the watchful eye of our coach John Shaw, we can create a successful 2010/2011 season and secure our seventh consecutive Varsity win.

Preseason begins on 20th September 2010, and following last year's precedent, will include a training camp in Barcelona. Prospective players are encouraged to get in touch over the summer (rebecca.carpenter@st-annes.ox.ac.uk) and to attend this preseason; it's a great way to enable to coach and captain to see you, and to allow you to meet the team and club before the hustle and bustle of term! OUHC is a large, social and dynamic club, and being part of it will be one of the most rewarding aspects of your life in Oxford.
